Top Rookie Performers Emerge in NFL Preseason Week 2

The NFL preseason is heating up, and some top rookies are shining bright. Here’s a look at the top performers from Week 2, as ranked by Pro Football Focus (PFF) overall grade.

Andrew Mukuba, Philadelphia Eagles, led all rookies with a 95.7 PFF overall grade. The second-round pick from Texas made an impressive preseason debut, recording a pick-six and a fumble recovery. Mukuba’s coverage grade of 94.2 is tied for first among safeties this weekend.

Jackson Meeks, Detroit Lions, came close to matching Mukuba’s score, with a 90.7 PFF overall grade. The undrafted wideout from Syracuse saw seven targets against Miami and brought in all of them for 93 yards and a touchdown. Meeks led the position with a 92.1 PFF receiving grade against zone coverage.

Other top rookies included Josh Priebe, G, Miami Dolphins (89.3), who improved his grading this week; Makari Paige, S, New York Giants (87.1); Efton Chism III, WR, New England Patriots (86.9); and Dean Clark, S, New York Jets (86.8).
