A man serving a life sentence claims he thought rapper Tory Lanez was trying to kill him, leading him to stab the singer multiple times. Santino Casio, who had previously served time for murder, says he heard rumors of a bounty on his head and became suspicious when he saw what he believed was a weapon in Lanez’s pocket. He allegedly jumped him, hitting and stabbing him 14 times before claiming self-defense.
Casio claims to have maintained a good relationship with Lanez while they lived in neighboring cells at California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi. However, the suspect now regrets his actions, saying he ended up with a stab wound in his leg. He believes Tory had a weapon and is not fully apologizing for his part in the incident.
Tory Lanez was stabbed multiple times earlier this month and has been returned to prison since treatment. His legal team denies any involvement in the attack, calling it “savage and ferocious” and stating that Lanez’s continued confinement is a miscarriage of justice.
