A total lunar eclipse, also known as the blood moon, will be visible in Central Florida on March 14. The event is expected to occur during early morning hours.
The partial portion of the eclipse will start at 1:09 a.m., gradually darkening the moon until the total eclipse begins at 2:26 a.m. The total eclipse phase, when the moon appears completely red, will last until 3:31 a.m. After that, the moon’s reddish hue will fade, and it will remain dark until the partial portion ends at 4:47 a.m.
Unlike previous eclipses, this event is safe to view with your naked eye, as no special glasses are required. Binoculars or a telescope can enhance your viewing experience.
Note that there are three types of lunar eclipses, but the total lunar eclipse on March 14 is expected to be the most spectacular.
