Tottenham Sack Ange Postecoglou After Europa League Victory

Tottenham Hotspur has sacked manager Ange Postecoglou 16 days after winning the Europa League title in Bilbao. The decision comes amid concerns over injuries, tactics, and signings.

The team’s poor Premier League form, with 17 losses in 38 matches, was a major factor in the sacking. Despite taking 78 points from their last 66 games, Spurs’ performance on the pitch was deemed unacceptable by the club’s board.

Postecoglou had previously hinted that he would stay on after winning the Europa League title, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy decided to stick with “Plan A” and dispense with the Australian. The delay in making the decision was due to various factors, including a trip abroad by Postecoglou, Levy, and chief football officer Scott Munn.

Levy cited Spurs’ 17th-place finish in the Premier League as the reason for his decision. While some fans may be upset about Postecoglou’s departure, others will see it as an opportunity to move on from his perceived shortcomings.

Potential candidates to replace Postecoglou include Thomas Frank, Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino, and other experienced coaches in the English Premier League. The club is now focused on finding a new manager who can lead Spurs back to success.
