Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg revealed how the voice of Kwei’s Ship Computer ended up being played by Stranger Things creators, the Duffer brothers. During an interview with MovieWeb, Trachtenberg explained that he was initially set to appear in a Season 5 episode of Stranger Things but had to bow out due to conflicting projects.
However, he remained friends with the show’s creators and collaborated with them on other projects, including Badlands and the upcoming Predator film series. When recording the voice for Kwei’s Ship Computer, Trachtenberg suggested that the Duffers do a cameo, which led to their voices being blended together to create a more computerized sound.
Trachtenberg expressed his excitement about the recent success of the franchise, particularly the animated anthology movie Killer of Killers and the latest release, Predator: Badlands. The film has been well-received for its brutal action sequences and return to the franchise’s roots.
The production team behind Predator: Badlands includes Trachtenberg, Patrick Aison, John Thomas, and Jim Thomas, with a runtime of 107 minutes and a release date of November 5, 2025.
