Trader Joe’s has issued a recall of 61,000 bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water due to the risk of lacerations from sharp edges. The company announced the voluntary recall on March 12, which affects products sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas between December 2024 and January 2025.
Consumers can identify the recalled bottles by checking the lot number on the lower part of the label: 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L. The CPSC advises customers to stop drinking from the recalled bottles immediately and return them to the store for a full refund. No proof of purchase is required, but the bottle must be returned.
No injuries have been reported so far. However, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) encourages consumers to take precautions and contact their healthcare provider if they experience any illness or injury after consuming the recalled product.
This recall follows previous actions by Trader Joe’s, including a February 2025 recall of its Organic Acai Bowl due to concerns over plastic contamination. The company has also faced recalls for other products in the past, including those containing listeria linked to contaminated cheeses.
Consumers can contact Trader Joe’s customer relations at 626-599-3817 or submit a request online for more information on the recall.
