Trader Joe’s has issued a recall for its Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water due to the possibility of cracked or damaged bottles. The affected products were sold in several states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
According to Trader Joe’s, the issue was discovered during research related to bottle breakage during production, and the recall affects approximately 1% of bottles with specific lot code numbers. The water has been sold in stores since December 27, 2024, until January 28, 2025.
Customers who have purchased the affected water bottles are advised not to use them and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Trader Joe’s customer relations can be contacted at (626) 599-3817 with questions or concerns.
This recall is part of a growing trend of product recalls in the US, which often stem from damaged products or undeclared food allergens. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated numerous recalls this year due to these issues, highlighting the importance of consumer safety awareness.
