After winning the coveted prize pot in the March 6 finale, Dolores Catania, Dylan Efron, Ivar Mountbatten, and Gabby Windey decided to split it among the last four players standing. The generous move paid off for all winners, with each taking home $204,300.
In an interview, Mountbatten, 61, explained why he chose not to banish a player at the fire pit. “You’ve got to live with yourself,” he said. “The money isn’t huge; in 20 years, you’ll have your memories, and I wouldn’t want to know that I took someone’s $ few thousand for it.”
Efron, 33, also expressed his decision not to banish a player. He did some quick math and realized that getting rid of another player would have resulted in losing out on an extra $17,000 each after taxes. “I’d rather be friends with everybody,” he said.
The travel influencer used his cut of the money to upgrade his living situation, moving from a one-bedroom studio to a house with a guest room and dishwasher. Efron also plans to support his 28-year-old daughter Ella by helping her buy a camper van for traveling adventures.
Catania, 54, will use part of her winnings to fund her son Frankie’s upcoming wedding expenses. She will also donate to Halfway Home animal rescue and a shelter in Patterson, N.J.
The group’s experience on the show was life-changing for Efron, who misses the friendships formed during filming. “It’s so fun to live a life like that,” he said. The Traitors season 3 is now streaming on Peacock.
