Doctors at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center are bracing for a worst-case scenario after an active shooter is reported at PittFest, the closest trauma center to the event. Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) instructs his staff to prepare for a surge of injured victims, with most expected to be treated at the hospital.
Extra help arrives as Dr. Jack Abbott joins the team, replacing Dr. Collins who has gone home due to emotional exhaustion. The staff is cleared out of their current patients to make room for the incoming victims.
The clip raises questions about David’s (Jackson Kelly) mental health, as his mother had previously petitioned to have him involuntarily committed after finding an “elimination” list in his possession. With PittFest underway and Jake (Taj Nico Speights), Robby’s surrogate stepson, in attendance with his girlfriend, the team is on high alert.
