Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce says he has “a lot left to prove” before retiring, and his desire to win another Super Bowl ring motivated him to return for another season.
Kelce, 35, spoke about his decision on Wednesday, saying it wasn’t a tough one due to his age or injuries. He feels like he still can make an impact in the league and prove himself.
The Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in February’s Super Bowl, a game Kelce felt was a failure for him as a leader. This season, he aims to set the bar higher than before, motivated by his goal of winning another championship.
Kelce’s return also brings excitement from his girlfriend Taylor Swift, who is now free from juggling her tour schedule. The two have been together since 2022 and will be able to focus on their relationship this fall.
Despite having a packed season ahead, Kelce remains enthusiastic about coming back to work every day and continues to host his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce.
