Treyarch has announced plans to nerf the Recon perk in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, following a backlash from players since the game’s launch last week. The Recon perk, which allows players to see enemies through walls for a short time after respawn and adds a HUD edge flash when an enemy is outside their view, has sparked debate within the gaming community.
The perk’s ability to reveal enemy positions on small maps with frequent respawns was seen as too powerful, providing a significant advantage in competitive multiplayer. This led to a surge of calls from players, including Faze content creator Swagg, for Treyarch to nerf the Recon perk.
Treyarch associate director Matt Scronce responded to the concerns by stating “Incoming,” and fans have been eagerly awaiting a change. While details are still unknown, the move is seen as a positive step to address player dissatisfaction. A revised version of the Recon perk is expected to be implemented in the near future, with Season 1 set to launch on November 14.
