Treyarch is celebrating its 115th day with a mystery box full of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the reveal of “The Tomb”, a new map set to launch on January 28. The map takes players back in time to ancient burial grounds in Britain, with ties to a British archeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe.
Gameplay-wise, The Tomb promises an experience similar to Liberty Falls, featuring tighter play spaces and a focus on replayability as players discover Easter eggs hidden throughout the map. Treyarch also hinted at a reimagined Wonder Weapon and the return of an iconic SMG.
Season 2 will bring quality-of-life improvements, including HUD presets separated for Zombies and Multiplayer, allowing players to rejoin matches with their loadout if kicked out. The studio also teased a co-op pause option in Zombies, enabling party leaders to pause matches mid-run.
To celebrate its milestone, Treyarch is giving Black Ops 6 players double GobbleGum earn rate and double XP for now through January 21. Directed Mode has seen promising numbers, with over 480 million hours sunk into the Zombies universe since launch. The team aims to grow the community through guided storylines, and player completion rates have more than doubled since Directed Mode’s release.
The Tomb’s release will also feature new voice acting for the Zombies characters, addressing recent recasting news amidst the SAG-AFTRA strike. With Easter eggs and secrets aplenty in both Terminus and Liberty Falls, fans can expect an exciting experience with The Tomb’s arrival.
