A federal appeals court was asked by the Trump administration to block a judge’s order for them to distribute November’s full monthly food stamp benefits. However, some states like Wisconsin are moving quickly to get the money to people, despite the shutdown. US District Judge John J McConnell Jr had given the administration until Friday to make the payments through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The Trump administration claims it cannot spend more than its available funds in a contingency fund. This comes as some recipients have already received their full November payments overnight on Thursday, according to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ spokesperson.
