Trump had listed several names, including Bill Clinton and Larry Summers, in his request. The president claimed that Democrats were trying to distract from other issues by releasing emails related to Epstein’s case.
However, the House is set to vote on a bill next week that would compel the Justice Department to release all of its Epstein files. Many Republicans are expected to support the bill, despite Trump’s criticism.
In other news, air traffic controllers received partial paychecks for some of their work during the government shutdown. The White House has also been dealing with fallout from Trump’s recent comments about Epstein.
