US President Donald Trump has made headlines with a series of scathing social media posts targeting music legends Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen, as well as the US Supreme Court. In separate posts on May 16, Trump criticized both artists for their support of his Democratic presidential opponent Kamala Harris.
Trump’s ire began when he targeted Springsteen, calling him “obnoxious” after the rocker spoke out against the administration during a concert in Manchester, England. Springsteen told the crowd that the US is currently under the control of a corrupt and treasonous government, prompting Trump to label the singer “overrated” and threaten consequences if he returns to the US.
Trump also took aim at Swift, who had endorsed Harris in the 2024 presidential election. The president wrote on social media that he still doesn’t like Swift, suggesting that her celebrity status would have diminished if she hadn’t endorsed Harris.
However, Trump’s most significant target was the Supreme Court, which blocked the Trump administration’s effort to deport a group of Venezuelan migrants using a 1798 wartime law. Trump slammed the court’s decision as “bad and dangerous” for America, claiming it will encourage more criminals to enter the country.
