President Donald Trump stated that egg prices are “getting too low,” contradicting recent data showing a slight increase in wholesale egg prices. According to the Department of Agriculture, the average price of eggs rose to $3.13 per dozen last week, following a decline since February.
Trump praised Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins for her efforts and noted that egg prices have dropped by 87 percent. However, he also said that if anything, the prices are becoming too cheap. The president claimed that in his early days in office, eggs were “doubling and tripling” in price and that consumers would not be able to afford them.
Despite this, Trump offered a solution: “You can have all the eggs you want.” However, many Americans are still struggling with egg prices, with 49 percent of consumers altering their Easter celebrations due to the high cost.
