Trump Exempts Mexico from Tariffs, Stocks Recover Slightly

European stocks regained ground after President Donald Trump announced he will exempt Mexico from his new 25% tariffs on North American trade agreement goods and services. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index saw little change at close, reversing earlier declines of up to 0.9%. Real estate and utilities sectors fell as German bonds dropped to their worst daily loss since 1990. In contrast, automakers surged after US tariffs on Mexico and China were delayed.
