A pro-Palestinian activist group, Palestine Action, has claimed responsibility for vandalizing President Donald Trump’s golf course in Scotland. The group targeted the “Trump Turnberry” golf course and hotel in southwest Scotland on Saturday night, spray-painting “Gaza is not (for) sale” across the lawn and damaging the clubhouse.
The vandalism came as a response to Trump’s administration’s stance on Gaza during the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Palestine Action stated that the US president’s plans for Gaza constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, and they sought to draw attention to what they consider a humanitarian crisis in the region.
Police in Scotland are investigating the incident, which has been described as a “childish, criminal act” by Trump Turnberry. However, the company said the vandalism would not affect its business operations.
The situation in Gaza remains unresolved, with no clear next step following the end of the first phase of a ceasefire. Trump had recently made headlines for his comments on Hamas and the conflict, including a warning to the group to release Israeli hostages or face consequences.
