US President-elect Donald Trump has announced his nomination of billionaire and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta to become the US ambassador to Italy. Fertitta, chairman and owner of Landry’s restaurants, hotels, and casinos, is a 67-year-old Texas native who Trump described as an “accomplished businessman” and philanthropist.
