Trump Names Hollywood Special Envoys for Economic Revival

US President-elect Donald Trump announced three special envoys on Thursday to promote business in Hollywood, California. The appointments are aimed at reviving the struggling film industry.

Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone have been chosen as Special Ambassadors to help the US president achieve his economic goals for Hollywood. In a statement, Trump said these three individuals will act as his eyes and ears to ensure that Hollywood’s business is restored to its former glory.

Sylvester Stallone, 78, described Trump as the “second George Washington” while praising the president-elect’s leadership skills. The actor expressed his support for Trump in an interview earlier this year.

Mel Gibson, 69, backed Trump in the 2024 presidential election and criticized Vice President Kamala Harris during a recent airport appearance. Gibson stated that he will help the administration with any insights or guidance he can provide.

Jon Voight, 86, is a conservative actor who has long supported Trump. He once declared Trump to be the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln” in 2019. Voight expressed his concerns about Hollywood’s economic decline and acknowledged the need for revitalization. The National Medal of Arts recipient welcomed the opportunity to help rebuild the film industry under Trump’s presidency.

The appointment of these special envoys is seen as a significant step towards restoring Hollywood’s business and cultural significance in the US entertainment sector.
