Trump Names Key Allies for Second Administration Roles

President-elect Trump has named Richard Grenell as his pick to serve as presidential envoy for special missions, a key role that will shape the administration’s policies in sensitive regions around the world. Grenell, who served as intelligence chief during Trump’s first term, will lead US efforts in countries like Venezuela and North Korea.

Grenell previously held several high-profile positions, including US Ambassador to Germany, Acting Director of National Intelligence, and Presidential Envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Negotiations. He spent eight years working with the UN Security Council on North Korea and other international issues.

Trump also announced Edward Sharp Walsh as his pick to serve as US ambassador to Ireland. A successful businessman and philanthropist, Walsh is president of the Walsh Company and previously served on the New Jersey Schools Development Authority Board. The picks are part of Trump’s ongoing nomination efforts, which aim to secure Senate approval for key administration roles.
