US President-elect Donald Trump has announced that actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone will be “Special Ambassadors” to Hollywood, California. The actors will serve as envoys to help bring back business lost to foreign countries.
Voight, a longtime Trump supporter, received the National Medal of Arts in 2019. Gibson backed Trump’s campaign in October 2024 and spread conspiracy theories about California wildfires on Fox News after his house burned down. Stallone endorsed Trump late in the 2024 campaign, calling him “the second George Washington”.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he will rely on their suggestions to promote Hollywood’s return to greatness. The president-elect described this as “The Golden Age of Hollywood”, similar to the country itself.
