Trump Nominates Republic Airways CEO Bryan Bedford to Head FAA

Bryan Bedford, President Trump’s pick to head the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has a decades-long career as an airline executive under his belt. As the current CEO of Republic Airways, Bedford is credited with growing the airline from $85 million in revenues to over $1.3 billion during his tenure. Under his leadership, Republic expanded its fleet from 36 turboprop aircraft to nearly 200 E-Jet planes.

Bedford’s impressive track record includes being named Airline Executive of the Year by Regional Airline World twice and receiving recognition from other publications such as Airline Business. He also made two “40 under 40” lists, highlighting his skills in leadership and industry expertise.

As Trump announced on Truth Social, Bedford will work closely with Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to reform the FAA, ensure export safety, and safeguard millions of annual passenger movements. However, Bedford’s nomination is subject to Senate confirmation.
