US President Donald Trump says there may be a “solution” in the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, amid increased activity at her Tucson home.
Guthrie, 84, was last seen on January 31 and a ransom letter demanding millions in Bitcoin cryptocurrency was shared with local and national media. Investigators have been reviewing new messages related to her case.
Trump told reporters that investigators have found “strong clues” and are working to identify the person responsible for Guthrie’s disappearance. The President said he hopes to have answers soon, but did not provide further details.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are continuing their search of Guthrie’s home, which was blocked off by deputies on Wednesday afternoon. Broadcast video showed evidence markers placed around the property and a towed SUV.
Guthrie’s family has been pleading for anyone holding her to come forward, with son Camron Guthrie saying they want to “know without a doubt that she’s alive”. The case has garnered widespread attention and support from the public, with many calling in to express their condolences and prayers.
