Trump Orders Strikes on Iran’s Nuclear Sites

US President Donald Trump has authorized strikes on three main nuclear sites in Iran, saying the country would face more devastating attacks if it does not agree to peace. The attacks, which involved B-2 bombers carrying massive bombs, targeted Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow sites. Iranian officials confirmed that part of the Fordow site was attacked by “enemy airstrikes.” The UN has called the strikes a dangerous escalation in the region, while Israel claims coordination with the US on the operation.

The strikes come as diplomatic efforts to stop hostilities between Iran and Israel have failed. Trump warned Tehran it would face more attacks if it does not agree to peace, saying there were many other targets that could be hit by the US military. The US has reached out to Iran diplomatically to say the strikes are all part of its plans and does not aim for regime change.

The operation has sparked debate in Washington, with some lawmakers calling for Trump to receive permission from Congress before committing to combat against Iran. Others have criticized the move as unconstitutional. Israel has congratulated Trump on his “bold decision,” while Iranian officials claim the facility had been evacuated of enriched uranium reserves and there are no materials left that could be used for nuclear weapons.

The conflict between Iran and Israel has resulted in deaths and injuries in both countries, with at least 430 people killed and 3,500 injured in Iran since Israel began its attacks. The US has taken a neutral stance on the conflict, but the operation has raised concerns about oil prices and global economies worldwide.
