Trump Praises Apple’s $500 Billion U.S. Investment Plan Amid Tariffs Concerns

US President Donald Trump has praised Apple’s announcement of a $500 billion investment plan in the US, which aims to create 20,000 jobs over four years. The company plans to expand its teams and facilities nationwide and build a new factory in Texas to advance its artificial intelligence push.

Trump thanked Apple CEO Tim Cook via social media, saying his faith in Trump’s policies was the reason behind the investment. However, not everyone is optimistic about the plan. UBS analyst David Vogt described it as “completely unrealistic mechanically” due to concerns over where the additional funds will come from.

Vogt cited Apple’s current spending habits and cash flow generation, stating that the $500 billion commitment would require a significant increase in expenses. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives defended Cook’s move, saying it diversifies Apple’s manufacturing strategy and plays into Trump’s “America First” theme.

The announcement comes days after Cook met with Trump, who claimed that Apple chose to invest in the US to avoid paying tariffs. The company has a history of making similar investments, but experts question whether this latest plan is sustainable.
