Trump Says US Will Bring Home 10 More Hostages from Gaza Soon

US President Donald Trump made a statement about hostages in Gaza during a dinner at the White House with Republican lawmakers. He said that five American hostages captured by Hamas have been brought home, three of whom are alive and two who died. Two Americans remain captive along with dozens of non-American hostages.

Trump also praised his administration’s work on foreign policy, including legislation passed by Congressional Republicans. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was passed with a small majority, Trump said was “the most successful period of time” for any administration in six months.

Trump thanked several Republican lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, for their work on the bill. He also praised the committee chairs and other lawmakers for their efforts on immigration, border security, foreign diplomacy, and spending cuts.

Trump predicted that the GOP majority will be stronger in both the House and the Senate in 2026, despite conventional wisdom predicting the opposite. He said he doesn’t understand why Democrats say Republicans always lose in midterms after winning the presidency.

The president also made comments about bringing home more hostages from Gaza, saying “we got most of the hostages back” and that “10 are coming very shortly.” Trump believes his administration has achieved a lot in six months, including what one might expect an entire eight-year administration to accomplish.
