Trump Set to End Global Tariff Pause Beyond July 9

US President Donald Trump announced he won’t extend the 90-day pause on global tariffs beyond July 9.

The pause was set to expire and his administration will notify countries of upcoming trade penalties unless deals are reached. Letters will be sent out “pretty soon” to countries, stating they can shop in the US with a 25% tariff or higher.

Trump had downplayed negotiations with each nation due to their sheer number. The administration aimed to reach 90 trade deals in 90 days.

Despite ongoing talks, Trump expressed skepticism about securing separate deals with all 200 countries.

On other topics, Trump discussed potential TikTok deal and his immigration crackdown, while reassuring that the US is “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear facilities. He also hinted at a ‘temporary pass’ for farm and hotel workers to avoid raids.

The US and China are set to continue trade talks after a recent rare earth exports deal.
