President-elect Donald Trump said he wants to be friends with everyone as he prepares to return to the White House, a departure from his first term where he faced opposition from many.
During his first post-election press conference, Trump touched on various topics including drone sightings and pardoning embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams, whom he described as being treated unfairly. He also expressed interest in privatizing the US Postal Service. Trump denied involvement in the selection of Sen. Marco Rubio’s replacement, citing Governor Ron DeSantis’ choice as his own decision.
Trump pledged to sue pollster Ann Selzer and The Des Moines Register over a recent poll that showed Vice President Harris leading him by three percentage points days before the election. He also mentioned plans to meet with tech CEOs, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Google’s Sundar Pichai.
Trump stated his intention to save $2 trillion through the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. The news comes as Trump prepares to return to the White House after a long election campaign.
