Trump Team’s Role in Israel-Hamas Cease-Fire Deal

ABC News host Martha Raddatz said President-elect Trump’s team had a clear effect on the cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas, despite initial denials from the Biden administration.

President-elect Joe Biden touted the cease-fire deal during his farewell address, but when asked about Trump’s role, he hesitated. However, in recent statements, both Raddatz and Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged that Trump’s team played a significant part in securing the agreement.

Raddatz stated that President Trump’s comments on the hostage situation may have influenced the Israeli government to reach a deal with Hamas. While it is unclear whether these comments were solely responsible for the agreement, they did seem to make a difference.

Blinken echoed this sentiment, saying that American leadership and diplomacy had been crucial in brokering the deal. He credited the 15-month conflict between Israel and Hamas with providing an opportunity to create a permanent cease-fire.

Despite initial denials from the Biden administration, it appears that President Trump’s team did have some influence on the outcome of the negotiations.
