US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to create a task force that will oversee security, transportation, and other key aspects of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The task force, which includes members from the President’s cabinet and government agencies, aims to streamline visa processing and credentialing for foreign athletes, coaches, officials, and media.
Chairman of the LA28 organizing committee Casey Wasserman expressed his gratitude to President Trump and his administration for their support in preparing for the historic Olympic Games. The task force is an “important step forward” in planning efforts, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering the greatest Games the world has ever seen.
The LA 2028 Olympics will take place from July 14 to July 30, with the LA28 Paralympic Games following from August 15 to 27. The event is expected to welcome around 150 heads of state and 11,000 Olympians. President Trump described the task force as a way to show America’s capabilities, stating that “America is a nation of champions.”
