Trump Urges Hamas to Accept Deal Amid Gaza Crisis

US President Donald Trump is urging Hamas to accept a deal to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, warning that “it will not get better — it will only get worse” if no agreement is reached.

The move comes after Trump recently brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Iran following 12 days of war. He is now pushing for a breakthrough in Gaza, where the conflict has dragged on for over a year and a half.

Trump believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should escalate the war to “get rid” of Hamas. This stance contrasts with his previous statements, in which he expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Despite this, Trump is expected to approve a new Gaza humanitarian aid plan on Friday after visiting envoy Steve Witkoff briefs him on the situation. The crisis in the negotiations has seen reports from the UN and other agencies of Palestinians dying of starvation.

Trump has made clear that he believes there is starvation in Gaza and has committed to increasing US aid, but also expects other Western countries and Israel to do their share.
