Trump’s AI Vision Takes Shape with Oracle and OpenAI Expansion

US President Donald Trump’s vision for Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure is gaining momentum with a massive expansion of the Stargate project by Oracle and OpenAI. The two companies have announced an agreement to develop additional 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity, exceeding initial targets and creating over 100,000 jobs.

The investment marks a significant milestone in Trump’s pledge to invest $500 billion in US-based AI infrastructure over the next four years. The expansion will bring the project to more than 5 GW of its 10 GW commitment, solidifying the US as a leader in AI development.

OpenAI Chief Global Affairs Officer Chris Lehane stated that the company is now on a “concrete path forward” with strong momentum and partnerships with Oracle and SoftBank. The investment is expected to accelerate America’s reindustrialization, create new jobs, and support the US economy through massive computing power.

The Stargate I site in Texas is already operational, creating thousands of jobs, and more are expected as operations expand. New jobs will originate from over 20 states, according to OpenAI. The company also highlighted White House leadership as a driving force behind innovation, job growth, and national competitiveness around AI infrastructure.
