US President Donald Trump is approaching his 100-day mark in office with historically low levels of support, according to a recent poll from The New York Times and Siena College. The poll found that 54% of voters believe Trump has “gone too far” in his presidency, citing policies such as tariffs, immigration enforcement, and cuts to the federal workforce.
Additionally, voters describe Trump’s presidency as “scary” and “chaotic,” with only 10% using the word “exciting.” The poll also found that a majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of key issues like immigration, trade, foreign conflicts, and managing the federal government.
Trump’s approval rating on the economy is at 42%, which is low for a new president. Voters believe he doesn’t understand their economic problems, with more than twice as many saying the economy has worsened since his inauguration.
The poll also reveals that even billionaire Elon Musk fares worse in terms of popularity, with an approval rating of only 35%. The poll’s results suggest Trump faces united opposition from Democratic voters and skepticism from independent ones.
