Trump’s Crypto Executive Actions at White House Summit

US President Donald Trump is set to announce several executive actions related to cryptocurrency on Friday, March 7, at the White House Digital Assets Summit. The planned announcements include using confiscated crypto in criminal cases to establish a national stockpile, creating a reserve for bitcoin, and changing tax treatment.

Industry leaders from over two dozen firms will attend the event, alongside Trump’s crypto czar David Sacks and Bo Hines, director of the President’s Council on Digital Assets. The announcement comes after an executive order signed by Trump in January established a working group to develop a federal regulatory framework for digital assets.

The order also directed government agencies to review regulations affecting the sector, prohibited promotion of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and revoked previous Biden-era executive orders on digital assets. The goal is to promote lawful and legitimate dollar-backed stablecoins worldwide and protect the US dollar’s global supremacy.
