Trump’s Neglected Childhood Home Sells at Steep Loss to New Investors

Donald Trump’s childhood home in Jamaica Estates, Queens, has sold for $835,000 – 40% less than its original price of $2.14 million in 2017. The Tudor-style two-story home was built by Trump’s father, Fred Trump, in 1940 and was the family’s residence from 1946 to 1950. The property has been vacant since 2017 after being purchased from flipper Michael Davis for $1.14 million.

The new investors, managed by Bei Chen and Huisa Zhen, have taken over a development project with two mortgages totaling nearly $2 million. The property features feral cats, stripped interiors, and a sign warning visitors not to take kittens from the house. Despite efforts to rent it out on Airbnb for $700 per night, the property has been largely abandoned.

The home’s new owners plan to undertake a gut renovation, but no permits have been issued by the city’s Department of Buildings yet. The sale marks another attempt by investors to profit from Trump’s childhood home, which has become a symbol of his family’s real estate empire.
