Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland was vandalized by activists over his recent statements on Gaza. The resort, owned by the president, was targeted overnight with red paint and slogans such as “Gaza Is Not For Sale” sprayed across the lawn. Activists also damaged the greens and defaced the clubhouse.
The vandalism is a response to Trump’s plan to “clean out” the territory and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” The move has sparked outrage among Palestinians, who feel their homeland is being treated as if it were Trump’s property. Palestine Action, a group behind the attack, said it was a direct response to Trump’s “stated intent to ethnically cleanse Gaza.”
The incident comes amid growing tensions between the US and Israel over Gaza. The US administration recently signed off on the shipment of 40,000 bombs to Israel. Trump also posted an AI video on Truth Social, advertising his plans for Gaza, which some saw as insensitive.
A spokesperson for Palestine Action stated that they reject Trump’s treatment of Gaza and will continue to take action against US-Israeli colonialism in the Palestinian homeland. The group has vowed to target Trump’s properties, including Turnberry.
Police Scotland are investigating the incident, but a spokesman for Trump Turnberry said it was “childish” and would not impact business. This is not the first time Trump’s property has been targeted; his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed with a pickaxe in 2017.
