Truth Social has launched its new AI search feature, Truth Search AI, which consistently pushes conservative media sources. The feature is powered by Perlexity and is now available on the web version of Trump’s social media platform.
During testing, we found that all source links cited by the search engine were from conservative publications, including Fox News and Fox Business. This suggests that the AI search engine is limiting results to Trump-supporting media, contradicting the platform’s self-proclaimed mission to promote free speech.
The feature also provides summaries of search results, which sometimes include negative assessments of Trump’s policies. In one instance, the tool stated that Trump’s tariffs had a “net negative effect” on the US economy.
Truth CEO Devin Nunes claims that the feature will make the platform an essential part of the “Patriot Economy.” However, other tests have shown bias in the search results, with one report suggesting that the AI dismissed questions about Trump’s involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking activities. Perlexity says its AI is designed to provide direct and reliable answers, but critics argue that it is biased towards conservative media sources.
The feature is currently labeled as a beta version, with plans to refine and expand its search function based on user feedback.
