Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has approached Intel to discuss a potential joint venture for operating the US chipmaker’s foundries, according to sources.
The proposed partnership would see TSMC taking a stake of no more than 50% in the venture. Talks are reportedly at an early stage, and Qualcomm is also said to have received TSMC’s pitch.
