Tucker DeVries Enters NCAA Transfer Portal, Father Takes Indiana Job

West Virginia guard Tucker DeVries has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to sources. The news comes just days after his father, Darian DeVries, was hired as the new head coach at Indiana University.

DeVries played for his father at Drake for three years before joining West Virginia last season. He spent one year with the Mountaineers and averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. Despite an injury that ended his season, DeVries showed potential to excel in the Big 12 conference.

The Indiana Hoosiers will likely be a top destination for DeVries, given the opportunity to play under his father’s guidance. As a talented scorer, DeVries can draw significant attention from other programs as well.

Following his departure, West Virginia’s season was impacted by the injury. The Mountaineers finished with a 19-13 overall record and a 10-10 mark in conference play this season.
