Tulsi Gabbard Denies Withholding Whistleblower Complaint from Congress

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has denied hiding a whistleblower complaint from Congress. She claims some lawmakers, including Senator Mark Warner, are spreading false accusations and lies about her actions. Gabbard says she was not in possession of the complaint and had to keep it secure due to sensitive information. The complaint, filed in May 2025, accuses her of wrongdoing and alleges she withheld classified information for political purposes.

Gabbard points out that the first time she saw the complaint was just two weeks ago, when she reviewed it to provide guidance on how to securely share it with Congress. She also says the previous inspectors general deemed the complaint not credible. Gabbard believes security standards require keeping such sensitive complaints secure until now.

She denies Warner’s claim of stonewalling Congress and accuses him of seeking political gain. The top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Tom Cotton, has defended Gabbard’s handling of the complaint, saying it followed necessary steps to handle sensitive material.
