Turn Off Apple Intelligence Features for iPhone Users

Apple has introduced AI features, dubbed Apple Intelligence, which offer various tools to enhance the phone experience. However, not all users are interested in these features.

A recent survey by SellCell found that 73% of Apple users think AI adds little value to their phone experience. If you’re among them, you can easily disable Apple Intelligence entirely or selectively turn off specific features.

To turn off Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (models iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, M-series Macs, and iPads), open Settings or System Settings and choose Apple Intelligence & Siri. Then, toggle the option to the left to disable it. Confirm your choice by tapping Turn Off Apple Intelligence.

Disabling Apple Intelligence will remove features such as writing tools, notification summaries, visual intelligence, Genmoji, image playground, chatGPT support for Siri, and image wand in the Notes app. However, some apps still use Apple Intelligence under the hood.

To disable specific features within an app, go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] and switch off relevant options. For example, turning off the Summarize Messages option in Messages will prevent text summaries from appearing in notifications.

Some features, like writing tools, require disabling system-wide. Also, note that many apps include an Apple Intelligence & Siri option in Settings, but this setting only affects how the app interacts with Siri and does not disable specific AI features.
