Two Plane Collisions at Seattle Airport, No Fatalities Reported

A Japan Airlines plane and a Delta Air Lines plane collided on the ground in Seattle’s Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) just after 10:15 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The incident involved a taxing Japan Airlines aircraft that appeared to have struck the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines aircraft.

According to airport officials, all passengers from the two flights were deplaned without reported injuries. The airlines worked together with airport response crews to safely accommodate the passengers and move the aircraft off the ramp taxiway.

The incident occurred on a taxi lane, causing minimal impact to airport operations, according to SEA’s statement. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines if they are flying today due to the potential for similar incidents.
