Ty Dillon is set to compete in Sunday’s Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega, a track where he has historically excelled in drafting conditions. Despite some bad luck in recent years, Dillon boasts a strong record of top-10 finishes at these superspeedways.
In his last two starts at Daytona and Talladega, including this year’s Daytona 500, Dillon has finished outside the top 10 just twice, missing out on a top spot by mere points. His 2023 Talladega performance with Spire Motorsports also earned him an 11th-place finish.
Over the course of his career, Dillon has secured five top-10 finishes in just 27 starts at these tracks. He’s proven himself to be a strong drafting track performer despite racing on smaller budgets.
Dillon’s odds have been slashed, but he remains a top value play with FanDuel’s +500 option. To break even, his model suggests he needs to finish inside the top 10 just 16.7% of the time, a task he’s accomplished in 18.5% of his previous starts at these tracks.
