Tyler Herro took home the championship title at the NBA 3-Point Contest, defeating Damian Lillard in a thrilling matchup. The Miami Heat player shot an impressive 24 points to take down opponents including Warriors’ Buddy Hield and Darius Garland.
Herro credited his performance to getting a feel for the arena’s temperature during the first round, saying it “felt cold” initially but warmed up in the second round. This advantage allowed him to put pressure on his competitors, including Lillard, who ultimately finished with 17 points and was eliminated from the competition.
Buddy Hield took second place, scoring 22 points, while Garland finished with 19 points. Herro’s win marks a historic achievement for Miami Heat players in the contest, joining Glenn Rice, Jason Kapono, Daequan Cook, and James Jones as previous winners.
