Tyler Perry Sued for $260m Over Alleged Sexual Assault

Tyler Perry, the US film and TV mogul, is facing a $260 million lawsuit in Los Angeles over allegations of sexual assault. Actor Derek Dixon claims that Perry used his influence in the entertainment industry to create a coercive dynamic, promising him a successful acting career but then subjecting him to escalating harassment, assault, and battery.

According to Dixon, Perry made unwanted advances and comments about wanting a sexual relationship, which he rejected. The lawsuit states that Perry allegedly threatened to kill off Dixon’s character on the TV show “The Oval” if he ignored his advances or failed to reciprocate.

Dixon alleges that Perry sexually assaulted him in several incidents, including being interrogated over his sexual interests and fondling him in a trailer on set. To stop further harassment, Dixon left his role on “The Oval” and declined a job as a writer from Perry.

Perry’s lawyer denies the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “scam” to make money. However, Dixon is seeking $260 million in damages for what he claims was a traumatic experience. The case is ongoing.
