Tyrese Haliburton’s Father Banished from Games due to Confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo

Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John Haliburton, will not attend Indiana Pacers games for the foreseeable future after a heated confrontation with Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo following Game 5 of their playoff series. The incident started when John Haliburton walked onto the court waving a towel and swearing at Antetokounmpo after his son made a game-winning layup.

Antetokounmpo described the exchange as “disrespectful” and said he disagreed with others who claim that winners should express themselves freely. John Haliburton later apologized on social media, acknowledging that his actions were not in line with the sport’s values. Tyrese Haliburton also spoke out, saying he didn’t agree with his father’s behavior but had a conversation with him about it.

The Pacers will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
