U.S. Shares Info to Counter ISIS Threats in Syria

The United States has shared critical intelligence with the new Syrian government to combat threats posed by the Islamic State (IS), according to a report by *The Washington Post*. Speaking on Friday, officials cited that this assistance helped prevent IS plans to attack a significant religious site near Damascus.

“The right, prudent, and appropriate action was taken,” one official explained, noting they had credible information about potential threats. Another emphasized that working with the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), designated a terrorist group, does not mean U.S. endorsement of its actions. This underscores the ongoing effort to strengthen relations with Syria’s transition government while addressing IS resurgence risks.
