The No. 7-seed Bruins dominated from start to finish, led by double-digit scoring performances from Skyy Clark (14 points) and Eric Dailey Jr. (14 points), alongside Aday Mara’s 10 points.
UCLA’s efficient offense was fueled by 22 assists on 26 made field goals, a 48.1% field goal percentage. Dylan Andrews excelled as the team’s facilitator with eight assists, while the Bruins shot 40% from three-point range, making 10 of their 24 attempts. UCLA also went perfect from the free throw line, converting all 10 attempts.
Mara made a significant impact off the bench, contributing 10 points, six rebounds, five blocks, and two assists. The Bruins’ defense stifled Utah State’s offense, forcing the Aggies to miss 18 consecutive shots from beyond the arc. UCLA extended its lead beyond the 20-point mark with a 14-0 run in the second half.
The Bruins will face No. 2-seed Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament second round on Saturday, March 22, after their 25-point win propelled them to the next round.
