UCLA Edges Indiana with Strong Defense in 72-68 Upset

UCLA pulled off a surprise 72-68 victory over Indiana on Friday night, thanks to a dominant defensive performance. The Bruins held the Hoosiers scoreless for nearly 20 minutes in the first half, limiting them to just 15 points. UCLA led by as many as 13 before halftime, with the Hoosiers struggling from beyond the arc, going 2-for-13.

In the second half, Indiana made a strong comeback, fueled by Luke Goode’s 10 quick points and Malik Reneau’s layups. However, Skyy Clark’s three-pointer pushed UCLA’s lead back to eight, and Myles Rice’s clutch plays kept the Hoosiers in contention. With 2:42 left, Reneau cut the lead to four, but Sebastian Mack’s three-point play pushed it back to seven.

In a thrilling final stretch, Indiana tied the game with five straight points before UCLA took possession. Dylan Andrews sealed the win for the Bruins with two free throws after Indiana fouled him. Goode led the Hoosiers with 16 points, while Mgbako and Reneau added 14 each.
